Abstract:Idiopathic scoliosis (IS) is a three-dimensional deformity of the spine. IS is the most common type of scoliosis but its pathogenesis has not been clearly defined. IS occurs mainly in adolescents and has the potential for further progression, affecting physical and mental health of children and adolescents. In recent years, IS genetic research has generated considerable attention. In order to promote early diagnosis and accurate intervention of IS and spine health in children and adolescents, this paper reviews researches of IS genetic model, candidate genes, and candidate gene expression.
