Abstract:The standard spoken and written Chinese language is the core academic language for a large number of Chinese learners. Based on the important role of working memory in the acquisition of the standard spoken and written Chinese language, this paper reviews theoretical perspectives of working memory in the acquisition of standard spoken and written Chinese language, and briefly introduces the empirical studies conducted around these perspectives. Based on current researches, applying the prediction and intervention effects of working memory on the acquisition of standard spoken and written Chinese language to the language education for ethnic minority students in Xinjiang can provide efficient cognitive neuroscience auxiliary approaches and methods for teaching, promote the optimization and upgrading of the teaching system, and accelerate the popularization level of standard spoken and written Chinese language among ethnic minority students in Xinjiang.
