Abstract:Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders in children, which can profoundly affect children’s life, learning, and socialization. ADHD even continues into adulthood. The overall prevalence of ADHD in children worldwide is 7.2%, and the overall prevalence of ADHD in children in China is 5.6%. With the advancement of disease awareness, the incidence of ADHD diagnosis is increasing. The treatment for preschool or school-age children, with or without medication, requires a combination of non-pharmacological interventions. This review discusses the non-pharmacologic treatments that are currently used in clinical practice.
