Abstract:Tourette syndrome(TS)is a kind of neurodevelopmental disorder in children and adolescents. Its pathophysiology is still unclear. In recent years, imaging research has gradually pointed to the corticostriatothalamocortical(CSTC)circuit. The applications of positron emission tomography(PET), functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI), and functional nearinfrared spectroscopy(fNIRS)provide an objective basis for elucidating the neurophysiological mechanism of TS. This article reviews the changes of CSTC circuit in TS patients from the perspective of structure and functional neuroimaging.
