Pediatricians' work environment questionnaire survey of general hospitals in Shanghai

Abstract:Objective To put forward reasonable suggestions for clinical pediatricians' education and training through pediatricians' questionnaire survey in the general hospitals. Methods In view of the present pediatrician concern working environment, simple self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate and analyze pediatricians' work envirenment. Results A total of 123 pediatricians participated in the questionnaire investigation, in which 109 questionnaires were valid with an effective rate of 88.6%. Satisfaction levels of medical social work environment, hospital medical hardware environment, level of supporting pediatric development, and income status were characterized as a general situation. Satisfaction levels of pediatric department environment and condition of junior doctors qualities and skills were given priority to satisfaction by participants. For pediatric discipline development trend forecast, maintaining the status quo and shrinking was the main point of view. For thoughts on pediatric jobs now, participants' main point of view was waiting for the opportunity to leave. The attention problems were medical environment (77.1%), source of pediatricians (73.4%), personal safety of pediatricians (67.9%), and job stress (68.8%). Conclusion Pediatricians worried about working environment. To improve the medical environment of pediatric adverse factors, provide necessary tilt policy, strengthen popular science education about pediatric discipline knowledge, and strengthen positive publicity were conducive to stability of pediatric team and pediatric discipline development.
