Abstract Dating violence is a form of violence that uses physical compulsion, psychological force, and risky behavior to validate the affection of intimate partner, which causes serious harm to adolescents. The physiological basisof dating violence involves genetics, hormone levels(such as cortisol and testosterone), brain injury, and executive dysfunction. During intervention, we should change the victims’ cognition, guide peer and bystander behavior, and strengthen family support. Future studies should explore the relationship between self-cognition and victimization, and the mechanism of steroid action, and integrate personality pathology and evolutionary theory to comprehensively analyze dating violence.
