Abstract Chinese characters，which condense the wisdom of Chinese people，are a kind of“complex brain words”. Chinese characters bear the abundant connotations of national culture gene，possess the bi-directional associations between ideography and highly visualized squared shape，and play an important role in promoting the balanced develop-ment of both brain hemispheres in children.
