Abstract Cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is a comprehensive and objective evaluation method of exercise capacity, which is the ”golden standard” measurement of cardiopulmonary endurance. CPET can evaluate pulmonary and cardiovascular function during intensive exercise and monitor the dynamic changes of physiological indicators. Currently, with the further understanding, the application of CPET in patients with idiopathic scoliosis has gradually arisen great attention. It helps to find the characteristics and causes of reduced cardiopulmonary exercise endurance in patients with scoliosis in the early stage, so as to carry out targeted rehabilitation treatment. This review aims to conclude the application and research progress of CPET in patients with idiopathic scoliosis.
