Objective To explore the Internet innovative mode on child growth and development from the physicians' need in communities and the parents' health belief. Methods For the study of physicians and eligible children in communities, the Internet growth monitoring tool, “cute baby software”, was used to perform children's growth monitoring and follow-up. According to the physicians' and parents' questionnaire investigations before and after the implementation of the project, the child growth monitoring Internet innovative mode was analyzed. Results After the “cute baby software” was used to monitor and follow up childrens growth and development, the attitudes of physicians and parents from the three aspects—the importance and faith for children's growth and development, the recognition of monitoring by Internet, and the satisfaction for children healthcare—were greatly improved. In addition, at the end of the project, the rate of praise

for the “cute baby software” was above 90%. Conclusion The online monitoring of child growth and development with the “cute baby software” meets the requirements of physicians to optimize the growth monitoring in their districts, which can improve the health belief of parents. It is beneficial to promotion of the transformation of the children healthcare system from passive to active in China.
