Abstract Altruism plays an important role in human’s social interaction, which suggests that altruistic behavior is crucial in detecting the social disability in children with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Behavioral research supports that children with ASD behaved unusually in making altruistic decision. However, its mechanisms are still unclear. Cognitive dysfunction, social motivational deficit and different experimental paradigms may all have a effect on altruistic decision making in children with ASD.
