Abstract:Objective To analyze the research status, hotspots, and developmental trends of parent-child conflict among middle school students, and provide reference for promoting adolescent mental health. Methods The bibliometric software CiteSpace was used to visually analyze the relevant literature on the theme of“parent-child conflict”from 1996 to 2022 included in the Web of Science core collection. The current research results were presented in a structured manner. Results From 1996 to 2022 , the number of publications in the field of parent-child conflict showed an upward trend. Parent-child conflict research has formed an international cooperation network centered on the United States, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, but a group of high-yield and high-influence core authors and research teams have not yet been formed. The frontier issues in the field of parent-child conflict involved three aspects: environmental factors, mental health, and problem behavior. The research hotspots focused on family environment, conflict behavior, emotion regulation, and symptom performance. Conclusion In the future, more cross-level research should be carried out, focusing on parent-child communication, strengthening the research on coping strategies for adolescent parent-child conflict from the perspective of positive development, focusing on collaborative innovation, and strengthening institutional cooperation.
