Abstract:Physiological hand-shape refers to the physiological measurement indicators in the development of hand, including the wrist thickness, palm length, hand width and finger length or digit ratio, through a coordination and cooperation of hand muscles, blood vessels and nerves, to complete a series of simple or complex actions. Physiological hand-shape plays an important role in children's fine motor skill, dominant hands, handwriting skill, height prediction, hormone levels, etc. So the evaluation of children's physiological hand-shape is necessary in the assessment of children's growth and development process. We summarize the research situation and development of physiological hand-shape in children, providing a basis for the future clinical and scientific research.
