Abstract:There has been controversy about the roles of emotion and reasoning in moral judgment. Over time, different researchers have put forward different models, such as Piaget’s rational model and Haidt’s social intuitionist model. However,Greene’s dual-process theory combines emotion with reasoning. With the deepening of research,Cushman finds a dual-process theory of moral judgment, which distinguishes two processes of moral judgment:one begins with harmful consequences and seeks a causally responsible agent, and the other begins with an action and analyzes the mental states responsible for that action. Future research is needed in terms of research material, special populations, geographical and cultural differences, and religious differences, for the systematic study of moral judgment model.
